PUR is one of the leading names in water filtration - right next to Brita. They make all kinds of filtration products, including pitchers, water bottles, and faucet mounts.
Ahead, we’ll take a look at some of the popular products from PUR, as well as what users and professional reviewers have to say about them. In the end, you’ll get our recommendation for the best Put water filter faucet mount we’ve seen.
PUR Water Filter Reviews
There is a long list of PUR products on the market. They make pitcher filters, and of course, the PUR water filter faucet mount.
For this piece, we’re focusing on the faucet water filter rather than the pitcher filters. While these are fantastic products, the PUR water filter faucet mounts provide much more utility for the home. You can add them to any faucet and have clean water from the tap, rather than wait for it to filter through the pitcher’s filter.
PUR Classic Faucet Filtration System
The PUR Classic Faucet Filtration System (FM-2000B) is the most affordable PUR water filter faucet mount you can purchase from the company. There are some older markets you can find from secondhand distributors, but this one is the cheapest you can purchase on the PUR online store.
Like the majority of the PUR faucet products, the one-click installation makes the Classic filtration system easy to place on almost any faucet in your home. The only limitations for the Classic are pull-out and handheld faucets, but none of the PUR filtration systems will work with these.
The PUR Classic is certified to remove 99% of lead, 96% of mercury, and 92% of certain pesticides along with over 70 other contaminants.
The place where the PUR Classic Faucet Filtration System shines is in price. It’s only $20 to buy one of these units from the PUR website, and replacement filters will only cost you $12.99 a pop. PUR recommends changing your filters every 100 gallons, so your $13 will go a long way.
Another of the leading characteristics of the PUR Classic is its ability to influence the flavor of the water. You’ll find this characteristic with all PUR filters in this overview, but the Classic will perform just as well regarding taste at a lower price point.
The PUR Classic, while cheap, isn’t necessarily the best choice for a faucet filter. Those who are interested in purchasing one of these products are likely looking for one that can last years, so the price of the unit might not be the biggest concern for everyone.
One of the biggest drawbacks of the PUR Classic faucet filter is the speed at which it dispenses water. No faucet water filter is going to provide a water flow that’s as fast as the faucet without a filter on it, but this model seems particularly slow.
At times, it’s as though the filter is almost dripping the water into your cup or bowl. While this isn’t the end of the world, it’s definitely a downgrade from higher-priced PUR water filter faucet mounts.
The reviews and user feedback for the PUR Classic are a bit mixed. Some users love the affordable option from PUR, while others complain about the slow water dispensary rate and the filter’s tendency to leak.
While leaking isn’t a universal problem, it’s one that comes with the territory of faucet filters. Although some reviews mention leaks associated with the PUR classic, they aren’t as widespread as we’ve seen with other filters. PUR uses a metal fastener, which makes leaking less of a problem. Some other faucet filters use a plastic fastener, which will leak much more frequently.
The PUR Classic is a solid option out of the PUR collection of water filters. It doesn’t have many unique characteristics, though, and there are a few other selections from PUR you might find more interesting.
The Classic is best for those who infrequently use their faucet filter, or want the cheapest option available. You may want to look at some of the other options we included if you want a filter that’s sure to get rid of almost any contaminants and has some added quality-of-life features.
PUR Basic Faucet Filtration System

The Basic Faucet Filtration System is similar to the Classic we listed above with a few small improvements. Like the Classic, the Basic filters 99% of lead, 96% of mercury, 92% of certain pesticides, and over 70 other water contaminants that could be plaguing your tap water.
The Basic’s biggest improvement is the CleanSensor Monitor technology. The light on the filtration system tells you when it’s time to swap filters, making it simple to understand when you need to make the switch.
The PUR Basic is a slight upgrade from the PUR classic regarding design and accessibility, but the rest of the characteristics aren’t too different. It’s only $5 more for this model so it may be worth the upgrade for a lot of households.
Accessibility, ease of installation, and the ability to see when it’s time to replace the filter are the best features on this model of PUR filter. It doesn’t hurt that the faucet filter is one of the more affordable options from PUR, either.
Like the best features, the drawbacks of the PUR Basic Filtration System are similar to those of the PUR Classic. The water dispense rate is a bit faster, but not enough to make much of a difference.
Those who want a fast dispense rate in their water filter will be a bit disappointed with this one. Like the Classic, the Basic filtera a wide range of water contaminants - much more than some other filters do. It will be enough for most applications, but some contaminants might still slip through the cracks.
Contact your local water supply to find out what contaminants might make their way into your water system so you can see if the PUR Basic is enough filtration for you.
One unique negative of the PUR Basic is the static nature of the filtration system. It doesn’t swivel out of the way like the other PUR products - where you place it is where it will stay. This can mean some inconvenience if you’re washing larger pots and pans in your kitchen sink.
The reviews for the PUR Basic Faucet Filtration System are a bit more positive than what we’ve seen from the PUR Classic, suggesting that users and reviewers were pleased with what they saw.
There were some mentions of the filtration system cracking or leaking after months or years of use, but these appeared to be the minority of cases. Still, it’s worth noting that some of these filters aren’t as durable as others. Thankfully, there is a two-year limited warranty on PUR faucet filters.
The Basic is a slight upgrade from the Classic, but probably not enough to turn too many heads. It probably isn’t worth making the switch from the Classic to the Basic for the minor quality of life upgrades it provides.

The PUR Advanced Faucet Filtration System is one of the best you’ll find on the market. Apart from the Bluetooth model we listed below, this is the filtration system for those who want to be sure that their filter removes all possible contaminants.
The PUR Advanced has the same certifications as the two we’ve listed above, and the CleanSensor technology helps users understand when it’s time to change their filters.
One of the best features of the PUR Advanced is undoubtedly the MineralClear filter. This filter is more powerful than the PUR basic filter and can do a lot more regarding filtering your home’s water supply.
On top of that, the Advanced filtration system has much better water pressure than the cheaper models. Overall, this is the superior product regarding PUR faucet filtration systems. The filter replacements and the unit itself are a bit more pricey than the ones we’ve listed, but perform up to their higher price point.
While the PUR Advanced filtration system is one of the best we’ve seen, one of the drawbacks comes with the ongoing price of the unit. While the filters the Advances system uses are much more powerful than the basic filter, they cost more and seem to require replacement a bit sooner.
You’ll end up paying on both ends for this filter - both the unit and the ongoing cost of filter replacements. This won’t matter to some but is still worth noting.
We’ll cover the second drawback in the feedback section since we only saw this negative in some user reviews of the product.
The review feedback was positive on the whole, but one problem did arise when we took a look at some user reviews posted on Amazon. After a few months or a year, some users began to experience sputtering from the faucet when they turn the filter on.
Others even complained about the water spraying in all directions. We did not experience this sputtering in our testing, but we weren’t able to use them for as long as those who purchased the Advanced filter for home use.
Of course, this issue is not universal. Many other users wrote that they had nothing but positive experiences with this product. Still, it’s worth considering this feedback before you buy. Thankfully, there is a 2-year warranty on these PUR products.
While some users reported issues with this product, we think it’s the best of the bunch. The sputtering issue doesn’t seem to be too common, and the PUR warranty relieves some of the concerns we have about receiving a replacement filtration system.
This is the top-of-the-line product from PUR, and we think it represents the best value of their faucet filtration systems.

The PUR Bluetooth Ultimate Faucet Filtration System is the most expensive unit in the PUR library and boasts some unique features that no other PUR features have.
The filtration and water pressure are the same as the Advanced filtration system, so there’s nothing new there. We’ve also seen similar concerns with the Ultimate, including some users reporting sputtering after a few months of use.
The best feature of this filtration system is what makes it unique: its Bluetooth capabilities. You can sync the system with your smartphone and track your water usage.
Other than that, this system is very similar to the Advanced system and contains the same positive characteristics.
The biggest downside of this filtration system is the price. It’s $44 on the PUR website for this faucet filter, and the only added benefit you receive is the ability to track your water usage on your phone.
While this prospect sounds interesting in theory, the value of such a feature is up for debate. Some users love it, while others find it necessary.
User reviews and professional reviews seem impressed with this filtration system, but some are a bit dissuaded by the price. It carries the same issues as the Advanced filter and doesn’t offer much in the way of additional features apart from its water tracking capabilities.
While the Bluetooth water tracking sounds interesting, we don’t think it’s worth this high price point. Our recommendation would be to go with the Advanced filtration system at a lower price.
